“In a future ravaged by global warming, the last colony of survivors in New York City face an impending superstorm. When mysterious strangers arrive, the colony must decide if they are a threat, or a way out.”
One hundred years in the future, a small group of individuals cling to hope amidst the consequences of massive global warming. Our story explores the intimate relationships between members of a multi-racial and multi-generational group of survivors, in the only neighborhood still standing in New York City. A cautionary tale that is fiercely relevant for today, "Higher Ground" addresses both the denial many of us face about this imminent threat and the eternal optimism that we believe can help us overcome the greatest environmental challenge to threaten our future.
Created as a four-part series by musician and art director Peter Galperin and writer Gregg Ostrin, and illustrated by Patrick Barrett, with color by DC Alonso. Volume 1 - "Higher Ground - The Last of the Mannahattas" will be available as a full-color, 36-page graphic novel in the Fall of 2022. To reserve your copy sign up for our mailing list below.
