In a future ravaged by global warming, the last colony of survivors in New York City face an impending superstorm. "HIGHER GROUND: THE MUSICAL" is a four-part graphic novel series and stage musical that explores the intimate relationships between members of a multi-racial and multi-generational group struggling to survive in the only neighborhood still standing in the city. When mysterious strangers arrive, the colony must decide if they are a threat, or a way out.
HIGHER GROUND: THE MUSICAL was created by musician and art director Peter Galperin (Bulldozer) and writer Gregg Ostrin (Kowalski), and features 22 original songs performed by a talented vocal cast of Broadway stars including Emily Bautista, Kennedy Caughell, Darlesia Cearcy, Steven Eng, Doug Eskew, Chibueze Ihuoma, Taylor Iman Jones, Jeremy Kushnier, Brennyn Lark, and N'Kenge. Our international team of visual artists includes Kieran X. Quinn, Tanner T. Ogle, DC Alonso, Amal Desai, and Patrick Barrett.
