Lyrics
Life goes on and on... as it always does.
Forever adapting and growing, stronger because...
life goes on and on... against all the odds,
We survived... to carry on.
The water levels rose,
and the oceans swallowed the land.
The temperatures increased,
and the climate got way out of hand.
And then the great forests burned,
and the ice caps melted away.
And now we're stuck,
on the only dry land in the city.
The air is unbreathable,
and fresh water is all but gone.
The seasons have disappeared,
it's tropical all year long.
The city that I once loved
is an underwater grave,
and all that remains
is this small, lonely island.
But life goes on and on... as it always does.
Forever adapting and growing, stronger because...
life goes on and on... against all the odds,
We survived... to carry on.
The wall that saved us
was built fifty years ago today.
We've lived here for ten years now,
while the world has washed away.
We've gathered here together
'cause we're stronger as a group.
It's the birth of the last civilization.
But life goes on and on... as it always does.
Forever adapting and growing, stronger because...
life goes on and on... against all the odds,
We survived... to carry on.
The Republic of Northern Manhattan,
NOMA, as we like to say...
Founded on the highest ground...
on the highest ideals... and on the highest principles...
for the people... by the people...
and if we are the only ones left...
if there is no one else, well...
here's a toast to the last people on earth.
'Cause life goes on and on... as it always does.
Forever adapting and growing, stronger because...
life goes on and on... against all the odds,
We survived... to carry on.
We survived... to carry on.
